Who we are
Zuneio Musix Studio Private Limited(“Zuneio Musix”, “we”, “us”) provides music distribution, royalty reporting and payouts for independent artists and labels, and Listen, a music and short-video app for listeners, through this website, our dashboard and our mobile app (together, the “Services”). This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account details: name, email address, phone number, password (stored only as a one-way hash), account type (artist or label) and profile photo.
- Sign-in with Google or Apple: if you use these options we receive your name, email address and the identifier those providers share with us. We never receive your Google or Apple password.
- Your music and releases: audio files, artwork, titles, credits, lyrics, release dates, store selections and related metadata you upload or enter.
- Payment and payout details: plan purchases are processed by Razorpay; we receive the order and payment identifiers and status, not your full card details. To pay out earnings we also collect the bank, tax and identity details you provide.
- Royalty and earnings data: sales and streaming reports from stores, your statements, balance and payout history.
- Support messages: tickets and emails you send us.
- Listen account: if you create a listener account we collect your name, email address and password (stored only as a one-way hash), and the genres, moods and languages you pick so we can suggest music.
- Listening activity in Listen: the songs and videos you play, how far you listen, plays you skip or finish, your likes, playlists, the artists you follow and your comments. Comments are public to other listeners with your name.
- Stream records:when a signed-in listener plays at least 30 seconds of an artist's released track, we record the track, the date, how long it played and the listener's country. Artists see totals (streams, number of listeners, countries), never who listened.
- Reports and copyright complaints: if you report a song, video or comment we keep the reason and any details you write. If you send a copyright complaint through our website we collect your name, email address, the work you own, where you found the copy and your description.
- Notification details: if you allow notifications, a notification token for your device from Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging) or Apple, the device type (Android or iOS), the app version and which kinds of notifications you switched off.
- Website visitor details: when you first visit our website we ask for your name, email, phone number, country, state and city, and whether you are an artist, a label or other. We also record your browser time zone, the number of visits and when you were first and last seen.
- Approximate location: we derive a country, state and city from your IP address using an offline database. In Listen we use the country to show only music that is released in your country, and we store it with stream records. We do not store the IP address for this purpose and we do not collect precise GPS location.
- Device and usage data: basic technical data such as browser or app type, and security logs of sensitive actions in your account.
How we use your information
- To create and secure your account, and to sign you in.
- To review, deliver and manage your releases on the stores you choose.
- To calculate royalties, produce statements and pay out your earnings.
- To process plan purchases and issue invoices.
- To answer support requests and send service notices such as release status, payouts and security alerts, by email, in the app and as phone notifications.
- To run Listen: play music, remember where you stopped, suggest songs, follow artists, and tell you about new releases from artists you follow.
- To count streams and show artists how their released music is played.
- To review reports and copyright complaints and remove content that breaks our rules or someone's rights.
- To understand how many people visit our Services and where they come from, and to follow up with people who asked to hear from us.
- To prevent fraud and abuse, and to meet legal and tax obligations.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the Services:
- Music stores and partners (for example Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, JioSaavn and Gaana) receive your release metadata, audio and artwork so your music can be published.
- Payment provider: Razorpay processes plan payments under its own privacy policy.
- Sign-in providers: Google and Apple, only if you choose to sign in with them.
- Notifications:Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging) and Apple (Apple Push Notification service) deliver phone notifications. They receive your device's notification token and the notification text. Notifications about money show only a short title; amounts and bank details stay inside the app.
- Spam protection:our sign-in, password reset and copyright complaint forms use Google reCAPTCHA, which receives information about your browser and device under Google's privacy policy.
- Artists: see stream totals and countries for their own released tracks, never which listener played them. If you report content, the person who posted it is not told who reported it. For a copyright complaint we may share your name and contact details with the uploader so they can respond.
- Service providers that host our systems and databases, run our background job queue, store files and send email, under confidentiality obligations.
- Authorities or advisers when the law requires it, or to protect our rights, users or the public.
Mobile app permissions
- Internet access to connect to your account.
- Files and media you choose through the system file picker, to upload audio and artwork. The app can only read files you select.
- Vibration for haptic feedback.
- Notifications(Android 13 and later, and iOS ask you first) for release, payout, security and new-music notifications. You can say no, or turn them off later in your phone's settings.
- Background playback (a media notification and keeping the device awake while playing) so music in Listen keeps playing with the screen off.
- Downloadsyou save in Listen are stored inside the app's own storage on your device. You can remove them in Listen → Profile, and they are deleted if you uninstall the app.
Storage and security
Data is transferred over encrypted connections. Passwords are hashed, and the app keeps your sign-in token in your device's secure storage. Access to personal and financial data inside our team is limited by role and recorded in an audit log. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
How long we keep it
We keep account, release and royalty records for as long as your account is active and afterwards for as long as needed to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations and to resolve disputes. Website visitor details are kept until you ask us to delete them. Listen activity is kept while your listener account exists. Stream records are kept because artists' stream counts and payments depend on them; once a listener account is deleted they no longer identify anyone. Notification tokens are removed when you sign out, delete your account, or when Google or Apple tells us the app was removed. Reports and copyright complaints are kept for as long as needed to handle them and any dispute that follows. Background jobs, such as a queued email or notification, are removed from our job queue within 7 days.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us at any time to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to stop using it for follow-ups.
Notifications:choose which notifications you get in the app (artists: Notifications → settings; listeners: Listen → Profile → Notifications). Security notices about your password or bank details cannot be switched off. To stop all notifications, turn them off in your phone's settings.
Listening history:clear your recently played list in Listen → Profile at any time.
Delete a Listen account:in the app, go to Listen → Profile → Delete listener account and confirm with your password. We immediately delete your name, email address, password, music preferences, likes, follows, playlists, listening history and notification tokens, remove your comments, and remove your name and contact details from any reports you made. Stream records stay without anything that identifies you.
Delete an artist or label account: email us from the address on your account at [email protected]with the subject “Delete my account”. We will verify it is you, then delete your account and personal data within 30 days. Some financial records may be kept where the law requires it.
Children
Our Services, including Listen, are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows when it last changed, and we will post any new version on this page.
